Selamat Driving Experience

Two days at the limit. A lifetime of safer driving.

Dates
16 — 17 May 2026
Venue
SIC Driving Experience Centre
Duration
5 hours per session

Foreword

Driving well is not about going fast. It is about staying calm, reading the road, and knowing what the car can do when the unexpected happens. The Selamat Driving Experience is built around that idea.

Over two days at Malaysia's newest driving experience location, our instructors will hand you the keys to a Volvo and guide you through the manoeuvres that matter most: the emergency brake, the avoidance steer, the recovery from a slide. You will leave with sharper instincts, a calmer mind behind the wheel, and a deeper understanding of the safety thinking built into every car we make.

    Wrap Up

The four modules

Four exercises. One sharper driver.

01 / 04

Brake, Steer & Avoid

Hard braking, sharp avoidance.

You will accelerate to a target speed, stand on the brake pedal as hard as the car will allow, and steer around an obstacle without lifting. The exercise teaches the foot, the hands, and the eyes to operate independently — the foundation of every emergency manoeuvre.

02 / 04

Emergency Lane Change

Avoid first. Then recover.

An obstacle appears. You commit to a fast two-stage steering input — out of your lane, then immediately back in — without losing the rear of the car. Repetition builds the muscle memory that makes the response automatic when it matters.

03 / 04

Skid Control

Read the slide, regain the line.

On a low-grip surface, the kick-plate will force the rear of the car to step out. You will learn to recognise the moment it begins, where to look, and how much steering to apply and how the Volvo stability control system assist to bring the car back under control — calmly, with no drama.

04 / 04

Handling Corners

Vision. Weight. Precision.

Through a sequence of corners you will work on the three things that separate confident drivers from cautious ones: looking far ahead, transferring weight smoothly between axles, and using the steering wheel sparingly. Driven well, the car feels lighter.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Do I need any prior track or performance driving experience?

Not at all. The programme is designed for everyday drivers and practical scenarios that you'll only encounter on public roads. The exercises start gently and build through the day; our instructors set the pace based on each group's comfort level.

Can I bring my own car?

The event uses only Volvo cars from our own company fleet. This ensures every participant learns with cars we personally maintain to our highest standards.

What if it rains?

Most of the modules can run in sunny weather or light rain. Wet conditions are, in fact, a feature of one of the exercises. The instructors will pause or cancel any activity if weather conditions become severe.

Is there a minimum age?

Participants must be at least 19 years of age and hold a valid full driving licence. Learner (L) and probationary (P) licences are not allowed.

Can guests attend without driving?

Yes, however guests will be charged RM100 per person for hospitality. Track access is reserved only for registered drivers and instructors. Strictly no children are allowed at the event due to safety reasons.

Can I cancel or reschedule my registration?

Registrations are final once confirmed. We are unable to offer cancellations, reschedules or refunds, as places are allocated from a limited number of seats. If you are unable to attend, please let our team know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
